Opening Ceremony is everywhere...

8:37 AM Posted In , , , Edit This Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony. The line is nothing special, but I love her so I had to post:

this is for Ally

11:21 AM Posted In , , Edit This I don't know how I would feel if I was at a fashion show and if this is what they opened with.

either really excited and happy, or really scared and confused.

Grammy's

8:39 AM Posted In , Edit This

Everyone made a huge deal about MIA's mesh/polka dot piece at the grammy's. Many people said it was inappropriate and skanky, because she is pregnant. But now Henry Holland's name is on every website/blog/newspaper, i'd be happy. and of course, Aggy wore it better :)

enough!

PLEASE No more girl streetwear/ attempt at streetwear advertisements.

They are beyond cheesy and annoying, and I don't know who would click on them besides 12 year old girls that don't even read blogs where they are being advertised.

Couture / Spring '09

4:22 PM Posted In , Edit This Just a few favorites:

Dior - I'll post more later, but some pieces remind me so much of fairytale characters. Love the volume!

Chanel - The head pieces are so reminiscent of Isabella Blow!

Christian Lacroix - Very matador:

More to come!

Gareth Pugh presented his "urban warrior" look last night for men. And on top of that, he may be consulting with Dior for Dior Homme.

What you've been waiting for

A few months back Alexander Wang promised another line, and at last it is almost here. Wang describes his new T line, of tanks and dresses: “Necklines are stretched and armholes are strategically lowered so that it looks worn in. It’s like sleeping in a T-shirt and then wearing it the next day. It’s not this crisp little T out of the dryer. It’s draped and kind of wilted." PERFECT I want them all, they come in black and white and look super comfy. They will hit stores by the end of the month, and you can pre-order them through Saks. Prices range from $70-$85.

BLING

11:45 AM Posted In , , Edit This

I really love all of Eddie Borgo's Jewlery designs. These are my favorite two that he designed for 3.1 Phillip Lim. He is also putting out his own line, and it is all priced well, mostly all bracelets under $190, not bad!

fashion, movies, movies, fashion.I was reading blackbook and came across this article by alisha Gould- Simon. Here is a small excerpt from her article:
The fashion industry has collectively embraced its inner cinephile this year. First, Tom Ford announced his plans to direct (the fruits of which will produce the star-studded adaptation, The Last Man). Now fashion photographer Tim Walker has announced he'll do the same (his first feature film is slated to debut next fall). Karl Lagerfeld hopped aboard the bandwagon with his (sleepy) silent film, which pays homage to his house’s namesake, Coco Chanel. Vogue will be canonized in a film soon to debut at Sundance entitled The September Issue. And, now, of course, ubiquitous model Agyness Deyn, who not so long ago added DJ and songstress to her resume, is starring in a short artsy film, Dance of the Golden Axe, for the New York Times’ The Moment blog.

so this is a little bit crazy, I feel like films focused on fashion have been popping up a lot, this could all be a great thing, or just be flat out disappointing.

Favorite Ad Campaign of 2008

Gucci's Fall 2008 campaign won with flying colors. Lily Donaldson looks fabulous. I totally get the vibe that every model in these shots is on acid.

The Paris men's fashion week schedule was released on Monday; and to everyone's surprise, Gareth Pugh was one many of the designers. Pugh was reportedly getting many complaints after his last show, for not having any men's wear, and with sales at an all time high this year, he figures now is a better time than ever. WWD stated:
“Following the last show, the first show where I did not have any male models, lots of people commented on there not being any men’s wear in the collection….It felt like a good time to take on a new challenge and do a men’s wear collection,” he said, adding he is also working on some men’s accessories collaborations. “The collection will have all the staples of a men’s wear show, but obviously with my own slant,” said Pugh

This is exciting, let's hope he is as successful with this as he was with his women's collections!

WAD

I have yet to see the newest issue of WAD in stores, it's my favorite magazine and it's only released quarterly, so I am usually on top of it as soon as it's out. I hope it's in this city SOME where.
