According to ShoeWawa, Project Runway's Christian Soriano will be doing a line of shoes for Payless:

As we blogged back in December, Project Runway winner, Christian Siriano, has designed a range for Payless. Well, here is the first look at that collection that debuted at his New York Fashion show last week. Inspired by Egyptian artifacts, the range doesn't hold back on the spikes, chains, and zips. The colour palette is kept to brown, gold and aqua, with styles including ankle boots and platforms heels. Don't they remind you of those Christian Louboutin shoes for Rodarte a few seasons ago? They will be priced between $25 and $45.

How great are these designs?! He chose such great styles and colors for fall. I will definitely be getting a few pairs for myself.

10:13 AM Posted In Edit This Dsquared² models walked down the runway in Milan with Starbucks in their hands, and US weekly mags in their bags. Finally, a line that decided to mix it up a little.

but in the newest nylon for spring they make these purple high heels look strangely attractive, so when I actually looked them up online, they are totally not cute, and I don't understand what drew me to them in the first place. But it's the purple ones, and maybe I just really liked the purple and white together, and maybe it's totally embarrassing I thought they were cute even for a second.

:D

The Museum @ FIT

9:19 PM Posted In , , , Edit This Today I saw the two newest shows on display in the Fashion and
Textile History Gallery at The Museum at FIT.
Seduction and Gothic: Dark Glamour. Both collections were unreal.

Seduction explores sexuality in fashion throughout the ages, with pieces from designers such as Balenciaga, Jane Regny, and Vivienne Westwood. The gowns and corsets featured were gorgeous.

I also got a chance to see the gold spike heels by Christian Louboutin for Rodarte in person - and they're just as gorgeous as I imagined them to be.

The Gothic: Dark Glamour collection features more than 75 death-like ensembles. The exhibition includes looks from designers such as Rick Owens, Alexander McQueen, Anna Sui, and Gareth Pugh. Definitely a must see if you're into all things destructive and dark.

Best of all, both shows are free - so if you are in the New York City area I'd suggest seeing both of these collections before they're gone.

Platforms galore. These shoes are insane! Some of the heel construction is unreal. I am drooling over any pair by Alexander Wang, Pierre Hardy, Nicholas Kirkwood, Barbara Bui, and Celine.

Couture / Spring '09

4:22 PM Posted In , Edit This Just a few favorites:

Dior - I'll post more later, but some pieces remind me so much of fairytale characters. Love the volume!

Chanel - The head pieces are so reminiscent of Isabella Blow!

Christian Lacroix - Very matador:

A few months back Alexander Wang promised another line, and at last it is almost here. Wang describes his new T line, of tanks and dresses: “Necklines are stretched and armholes are strategically lowered so that it looks worn in. It’s like sleeping in a T-shirt and then wearing it the next day. It’s not this crisp little T out of the dryer. It’s draped and kind of wilted." PERFECT I want them all, they come in black and white and look super comfy. They will hit stores by the end of the month, and you can pre-order them through Saks. Prices range from $70-$85.

I really love all of Eddie Borgo's Jewlery designs. These are my favorite two that he designed for 3.1 Phillip Lim. He is also putting out his own line, and it is all priced well, mostly all bracelets under $190, not bad!

The Paris men's fashion week schedule was released on Monday; and to everyone's surprise, Gareth Pugh was one many of the designers. Pugh was reportedly getting many complaints after his last show, for not having any men's wear, and with sales at an all time high this year, he figures now is a better time than ever. WWD stated:
“Following the last show, the first show where I did not have any male models, lots of people commented on there not being any men’s wear in the collection….It felt like a good time to take on a new challenge and do a men’s wear collection,” he said, adding he is also working on some men’s accessories collaborations. “The collection will have all the staples of a men’s wear show, but obviously with my own slant,” said Pugh

This is exciting, let's hope he is as successful with this as he was with his women's collections!
